The Springboks have completed their Nations Championship training camp in Johannesburg, with Rassie Erasmus satisfied the squad is ready to shift into full Test-week mode ahead of the competition opener against England at Ellis Park on 4 July.
The squad travelled from Gqeberha to Johannesburg last Sunday and trained through to Thursday before dispersing for the weekend. They reassemble on Sunday to begin official Test-week preparations.
Erasmus confirmed the week was used to process learnings from the warm-up matches against the Barbarians and Zimbabwe. "England are a quality outfit, and they will present a completely different challenge — they are a settled squad and come off a Six Nations campaign," he said, adding that the squad is aligned on expectations and standards heading into the competition.
Kickoff on 4 July is at 17h40, live on SuperSport. The home leg of the Nations Championship then continues with Scotland at Loftus on 11 July and Wales at Kings Park in Durban on 18 July.
