Phepsi Buthelezi and Carlu Sadie have been added to the Springbok squad as the camp in Johannesburg moves into full swing.

Buthelezi, who made his Test debut against Portugal in 2024, joined the camp on Monday evening. Sadie, who has been based in France with European champions Bordeaux Bègles and participated in the virtual alignment camps from there, arrives on Wednesday.

The Stormers contingent, returning from their URC semifinal in Ireland over the weekend, also reported to camp on Monday.

On-field preparations began Monday with the double-header at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on 20 June the immediate target — Springboks vs Barbarians and SA 'A' vs Zimbabwe, both in Gqeberha.

"The excitement in the group to get the season under way is palpable," said Erasmus, who added that he expects both new arrivals to slot in with ease.

The squad for the Nations Championship — which opens against England, Scotland and Wales — will be announced on Sunday, 21 June.
