Canan Moodie has come through training unscathed and is in contention for Saturday's URC match against Zebre Parma at Loftus Versfeld, with a final decision on his availability to be made closer to the weekend.
Moodie has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury against the Dragons in mid-April, which ruled him out of the Bulls' win over the Scarlets in Wales. Attack coach Neil de Bruin confirmed on Tuesday that the utility back is moving well and looks sharp in training.
"He is a key player for us. He trained well today and looks sharp, but a final decision will be made closer to the weekend," De Bruin said, pointing to Moodie's backline versatility as a key asset. "He's a world-class centre and one of the best wings around. Honestly, he could probably do a job anywhere."
Currently seventh on the URC log, the Bulls need maximum points from their remaining fixtures to secure a play-off spot and keep alive the prospect of a home quarter-final. Despite Zebre sitting at the foot of the table, De Bruin was measured in his assessment of the threat they pose.
"There's no underestimating them. For us, it's about accuracy and execution. We know what's at stake, and we need to be sharp."
