Cheslin Kolbe's memoir, Sidestepping the Odds, is being promoted through a global billboard campaign arranged by his agency, Roc Nation Sports International, with three billboards installed across prime locations in Cape Town and Times Square in New York City.

Published in October and co-written with journalist and broadcaster David O'Sullivan, the book traces Kolbe's upbringing in Kraaifontein — an environment he describes as surrounded by crime, drugs and violence — through his professional career with Western Province, the Stormers, Toulouse, Toulon and a stint in Japan, to his status as one of Springbok rugby's most recognisable figures.

Roc Nation Sports International president Michael Yormark said the agency wanted to "amplify the launch of his memoir as aggressively as possible."

Kolbe returned to the Stormers this season alongside Wilco Louw and Siya Kolisi but is currently sidelined with a broken jaw sustained during the Greatest Rivalry Series against the All Blacks.
