George North will play his final professional match for the Barbarians against Wales at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on 27 June, the invitational side have confirmed.

North, who won 121 caps for Wales across a career that included four Six Nations titles, two Grand Slams, and Lions tours in 2013 and 2017, announced his retirement at the end of the current season. At club level he represented Scarlets, Northampton, Ospreys and Provence, winning a Premiership title and EPCR Challenge Cup with Northampton.

"It's always been a dream of mine to play for the Barbarians," North said. "So to be invited now, for a game at Twickenham, against Wales is just incredible. To go out against my country, with some of my friends and teammates playing is so special."

North will join the Barbarians squad after their fixture against the Springboks in Gqeberha, linking up with a group that includes TJ Perenara, Duhan van der Merwe, Virimi Vakatawa and Tomás Albornoz.
