Marcell Coetzee is free to play this weekend after a disciplinary panel dismissed the citing complaint against him stemming from the Bulls' URC Round Four match against Ulster on October 24.
Coetzee was cited under World Rugby Laws 9.20(a) and 9.20(b) for an alleged dangerous clean-out in the 43rd minute. The panel, chaired by Ireland's Ben Rutherford and joined by Wales' Declan Goodwin and Chris Morgan, accepted that foul play had occurred but classified the contact as primarily shoulder-to-body, with any head contact deemed incidental and of low force — a finding corroborated by Coetzee, his opponent and the medical team.
Applying World Rugby's Head Contact Process, the panel ruled the degree of danger was low and that the yellow card shown during the match was the appropriate sanction. The citing complaint was not upheld.
