New Zealand drew first blood through Codie Taylor, who finished after 32 phases of sustained pressure to hand his side a 14-10 lead following Richie Mo'unga's conversion — the fly-half's first Test points in nearly three years. South Africa had opened the scoring through Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu's boot before Damian de Allende and Morne van den Berg crossed to give the Boks a 17-14 halftime lead, with Will Jordan scoring in reply after a slick 32-phase move involving Mo'unga, Jordie Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu and Jordan.
The Boks dominated the opening exchanges of the second half, with De Allende completing his brace and Pieter-Steph du Toit adding a third.
