The Springboks claimed a 43-28 victory over the All Blacks in Baltimore to complete a 3-1 series win, becoming the first time the two sides have played a Test on US soil as the finale to what has been a four-match tour.
New Zealand made an eye-catching start, with Richie Mo'unga, Jordie Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu and Will Jordan combining to send Damian McKenzie down the left before Codie Taylor — captaining the side — crossed from close range. Mo'unga's conversion, his first Test points in nearly three years, gave the All Blacks a four-point lead.
South Africa responded with characteristic directness. Feinberg-Mngomezulu's individual quality helped get the Boks within five metres, where Eben Etzebeth and Morne van den Berg did the heavy lifting before Damian de Allende finished. Van den Berg then sniped over from a five-metre lineout to put the Boks ahead, but New Zealand stayed in touch through Will Jordan's try — the product of a remarkable 32-phase passage of play — to keep it at 17-14 at half-time.
South Africa blew the game open early in the second half. De Allende completed his brace and Pieter-Steph du Toit also crossed before Ethan Blackadder gave New Zealand a foothold back. The Boks' superior fitness told in the final quarter, with Kurt-Lee Arendse and Cameron Hanekom both going over to put the result beyond doubt. Beauden Barrett, returning to the Test arena, had the final word with a consolation try.
Van den Berg and Feinberg-Mngomezulu were among the prominent performers, the latter growing into the match significantly after a measured first half. The series, played across three South African venues before the Baltimore finale, was defined by the Boks' forward dominance and New Zealand's attacking ambition — a dynamic that produced competitive scorelines throughout.
