The Springboks hold a slender one-point advantage over the All Blacks at half-time in the opening Test of the Castle Double Malt Rugby's Greatest Rivalry in Johannesburg, leading 13-12 despite being outscored two tries to one.

Cheslin Kolbe opened the scoring with a penalty goal before Will Jordan crossed for the All Blacks to put the visitors ahead. Andre Esterhuizen — on as a replacement for Kurt-Lee Arendse — then drove through several defenders to score, with Kolbe's conversion nudging the Boks to 10-5.

Josh Moorby's try, converted by Ruben Love, swung the lead back to New Zealand at 12-10, before Kolbe's second penalty goal gave the Boks a 13-12 half-time cushion.
