Sky Sports has renewed its broadcast agreement with SANZAAR through to 2030, retaining exclusive UK rights to the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series between the Springboks and All Blacks, which kicks off on Friday 7 August.
The extended deal covers the Rugby Championship in 2027, 2028 and 2029, Super Rugby Pacific, Wallabies home Tests and Bledisloe Cup fixtures across August and September this year, and — looking further ahead — the Springboks' return tour of New Zealand in 2030. Sky will also produce clips and highlights across its digital and social platforms.
SANZAAR CEO Brendan Morris said the organisation was "delighted to retain Sky Sports as a rights holder broadcaster in the UK for the next iteration of our international rugby tournaments," citing the 25-year partnership as the backdrop to the renewed arrangement.
On the field, the Greatest Rivalry series opens with the All Blacks facing the Stormers before successive midweek matches against the Sharks and the Bulls. The first Test against the Springboks follows, with a fixture against the Lions preceding the continuation of the Test series. The fourth and final Test is scheduled for Baltimore.
