The Bulls' 34-26 URC win over Ulster at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday has left head coach Johan Ackermann managing a growing injury list, with Handré Pollard's hamstring the most significant concern.

Pollard was withdrawn in the 70th minute after picking up the hamstring injury, while scrumhalf Cheswill Jooste failed his HIA and Sango Xamlashe was stretchered off before the hour mark with a concussion, subsequently taken to hospital for further assessment.

"It's our first game where we had a fair share of casualties," Ackermann said. "The positive is that they are probably not muscular, or it's not long-term stuff. It's all head knocks, and it's probably Handré's that's the bigger one. It's a hamstring, and time will tell how long that's going to be."

With three players down, the Bulls were forced to reshuffle their backline, including moving Paul de Wet to the wing. Ackermann acknowledged the disruption while deflecting any excuse-making: "That's not an excuse. We prepare for that in the week, and it's more a bit of mixed emotions where we got the victory, but we felt we hung in there."

Canan Moodie, still working through a return-to-play protocol following the concussion he suffered against the Lions two weeks ago, also missed Saturday's match and was not risked despite returning to training during the week. Ackermann confirmed the franchise is being cautious given Moodie's concussion history. "Because of his past, we are taking it a little bit easier, so we will take it week by week."
