Andy Farrell has named a 36-man Ireland squad for next month's Nations Championship fixtures, with wing Mack Hansen, lock Ryan Baird and loosehead prop Andrew Porter all returning after lengthy injury absences. All three last featured for Ireland in the November series finale against South Africa at Lansdowne Road last year.

Hansen, 28, missed the remainder of last season after foot surgery but has returned to action with Connacht. Baird, 27, has recovered from a leg fracture, while Porter, 30, is back following calf problems.

Injuries in the loose-forward department have opened the door for uncapped Ulster back-row James McNabney. Jamison Gibson-Park is included despite not yet having played for Leinster this season due to a groin strain.

Caelan Doris remains unavailable as he continues to recover from knee and foot injuries, with hooker Dan Sheehan retaining the captaincy.

Ireland face Argentina, Fiji and South Africa at home in Dublin next month before a Nations Championship finals weekend at Twickenham. Farrell's side have won two of their three pool matches — beating Australia and Japan — before a 40-21 defeat to New Zealand in Auckland.
