Fourie returns from bicep injury as Stormers name side for historic All Blacks clash

Deon Fourie returns from a bicep injury to start at blindside as the Stormers name their side to face the All Blacks at DHL Stadium on Friday, with debutant Yaqeen Ahmed at fly-half and Ruhan Nel captaining the team.

Deon Fourie makes his return from a bicep injury that has kept him sidelined since early May, named at blindside flanker as the Stormers prepare to host the All Blacks at DHL Stadium on Friday evening — the first time New Zealand have faced a South African franchise side in Cape Town.

The 39-year-old starts in a back-row alongside Evan Roos at number eight and Hacjivah Dayimani at openside. André-Hugo Venter starts at hooker with Neethling Fouché and Vernon Matongo completing the front row. Connor Evans and Adré Smith form the lock pairing.

Ruhan Nel captains the side from outside centre, partnered by Jonathan Roche. Debutant Yaqeen Ahmed starts at fly-half with Imad Khan at scrumhalf, while Warrick Gelant is at fullback with Seabelo Senatla and Leolin Zas on the wings.

Ntuthuko Mchunu and Wandisile Simelane are among the replacements, giving John Dobson a bench with significant Springbok experience to call on.

Karl Dickson referees, with kick-off at 19:00 SAST.
