Rassie Erasmus has added Deon Fourie to the Springbok squad for the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series against New Zealand, with the 39-year-old joining the group in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

Fourie's return to the national setup follows a lengthy injury absence, his most recent Test having been the 2023 Rugby World Cup Final against New Zealand at the Stade de France. He returned to top-flight rugby last Friday when he featured for the Stormers in their RGR opener against the All Blacks.

The squad is reassembling in Johannesburg after travelling back from Argentina in two groups on Sunday and Monday. The four-Test series opens at Ellis Park on August 22, moves to DHL Stadium in Cape Town on August 29, returns to FNB Stadium on September 5, and concludes at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on September 12.
