The Cheetahs have confirmed five new signings ahead of the 2026 Currie Cup season, with Faf de Klerk the headline arrival. The scrumhalf joins from the Yokohama Eagles, returning to South African rugby after his stint in Japan.

Other additions include outside back Henry Immelman from the Bulls, and two loose forwards — Simon Muller, who comes in from Japan's BlueRevs, and Siya Ningiza from English club Ealing Trailfinders.

Centre Kobus Janse van Rensburg completes the intake, though he will only link up with the squad in January 2027 after finishing the season with Tuks, who claimed a record sixth Varsity Cup title earlier this year.
