Thomas du Toit says the Springboks have moved swiftly past the disappointment of last week's defeat to New Zealand and arrived in Cape Town focused on correcting their errors at DHL Stadium on Saturday.
The squad completed their main training block in Johannesburg before flying to Cape Town on Wednesday evening, taking Thursday off to rest ahead of Friday's captain's run.
"The important thing was to park that game and take the learnings as quickly as we could," Du Toit said. "By Monday afternoon we had a proper review, and we worked on the things that went wrong on the training field this week."
Du Toit, named among the replacement front row alongside Deon Fourie and Gerhard Steenekamp, acknowledged the scrum battle remains a focal point but warned against complacency despite moments of dominance in the first match. "Things can change so quickly within a week — coming off the bench it's not just about staying at the same tempo the starting guys deliver, it's about trying to lift that and increase it. No points are carried over. It starts all over again."
He also pointed to the Lions' recent scrum performance against the All Blacks as a reminder of how quickly that area of the game can shift between teams.
Saturday carries added significance with two milestone caps in the Bok ranks. Ox Nche runs out for his 50th Test, while Pieter-Steph du Toit becomes only the 11th Springbok in history to reach 100 caps. "I'm incredibly grateful for Ox as a player and as a person — hopefully we can do the job to make it a memorable one for him and Pieter-Steph," Du Toit said.
The return of Siya Kolisi to the starting XV also drew praise. "It's great to have Siya back. He's very vocal, especially at training, and that gives confidence to the younger guys and the entire team."
Kickoff at DHL Stadium is at 17h10, live on SuperSport.
