The Lions have named a 30-man squad for a three-week European tour that opens with their Investec Champions Cup match against La Rochelle in France on Saturday, before away fixtures against Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors ahead of the November break.
Erich Cronje returns after missing the heavy defeat to the Bulls, a game in which his absence was felt acutely as the Bulls ran in nine tries. Midfielder Bronson Mills and lock Etienne Oosthuizen also come back into the squad after sitting out that fixture.
All three of the Lions' Springboks — Boan Venter, Morne van den Berg and Quan Horn — are available for the tour. The one enforced absence is prop Sebastian Lombard, who sustained an ankle injury against the Bulls and does not travel.
Francke Horn captains the touring party.
