The Springbok Women will face Ireland in back-to-back WXV Global Series Tests at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on 24 and 31 October, both kicking off at 15h00. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster from R50 per person, or R150 for a package of four, with tickets sold per match.

It will be the first time Ireland have toured South Africa, and only the second meeting between the sides — the last coming at the 2006 Women's Rugby World Cup in Canada, where Ireland won 37-0.

Ireland arrive ranked fifth in the world and in decent form, having beaten Japan twice before a narrow loss to the USA in the WXV Global Series. They finished third in this year's Women's Six Nations. The Bok Women went 2-1 on their WXV tour, losing to Wales before beating Italy and Spain, and earlier in the season won the Rugby Africa Women's Cup, drew a two-Test home series against the USA, and fell to the Black Ferns.

SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer pointed to the Boks' home win over the USA as evidence they can compete against higher-ranked opposition, and described Ireland — along with New Zealand — as the strongest test the team will have faced this year.

Jess Ling of Australia referees both Tests, assisted by Precious Pazani (Zimbabwe) and Giana Viljoen (SA), with Matteo Liperini as TMO and Quinton Immelman as Foul Play Review Officer.
