New Zealand overturned a halftime deficit to beat the Springboks 33-16 in the first Test at Ellis Park on Saturday night, scoring five tries to one to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
South Africa led 13-12 at the break, with Andre Esterhuizen's try and three Cheslin Kolbe penalties giving the home side the edge. The All Blacks came alive in the second half, with Will Jordan crossing twice and Josh Moorby, Fabian Holland and Luke Jacobson each adding a try. Ruben Love converted four of the five.
South Africa's only try came from Esterhuizen, with Kolbe adding the conversion and three penalties for a 16-point haul.
