The SA Under-18 'A' side completed the 2026 U18 International Series with a perfect record, closing out the tournament with their most commanding display — a 51-26 victory over France U18 at Stellenberg High School on Saturday.

Flyhalf Jaydon Viljoen was the architect of the win, contributing 21 points via a try, five conversions, a penalty and a drop goal. His influence was felt throughout, particularly in the key moments that settled what was a genuinely competitive first half.

South Africa bolted out of the blocks, running in three unanswered tries through Linakho Mehlomakulu, Max Malan and Lucritia Magau — all converted by Viljoen — to lead 21-0. France hit back sharply, however, with Philippe Roudaut, Sacha Codorniou and Arthur Noel all crossing, Jehlani Trillon adding three conversions to drag the visitors back to 21-21. It was Viljoen's long-range penalty and drop goal that kept South Africa ahead at the break, 27-21.

France's momentum did not survive the interval. South Africa emerged with intent and scored two long-range tries in quick succession — Viljoen first, then replacement Thomas Saunders — to push the lead out to 41-21. Rufagon Hendricks extended the advantage further with a finish in the right-hand corner before France added a consolation. Ruan Genis had the final word, dotting down for the hosts' seventh try to seal the 51-26 margin.

The victory follows earlier series wins over Ireland and Georgia, giving the SA U18 'A' side a clean sweep of the 2026 tournament.
