Wales head coach Steve Tandy will trim his 48-man training squad to between 32 and 34 players early next week following Saturday's 33-31 warm-up win over the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium.
The Barbarians fixture was Wales' last hit-out before their Nations Championship campaign opens against Fiji in Cardiff next Saturday, ahead of Tests against Argentina and South Africa.
Three injuries — to Louie Hennessey, Keiron Assiratti and Liam Belcher — have already reduced the original squad numbers before Tandy makes his formal cuts.
"It'll be done over the next few days," Tandy said. "We'll make sure we get everything through the physios now, see how the boys are and make sure everyone pulls up after the game."
Tandy will also reintegrate 12 players based in England and France who were unavailable for the Barbarians match due to the World Rugby international release window. They include lock Dafydd Jenkins, scrumhalf Tomos Williams, props Nicky Smith and Rhys Carre, and back Louis Rees-Zammit.
"The competition gets a little bit higher and we've got to continue to do that," Tandy added, acknowledging there will be tight selection calls before the squad travels.
