Canal+, SARU and New Zealand Rugby have confirmed that SuperSport will broadcast Rugby's Greatest Rivalry live across South Africa and the Rest of Africa on DStv and GOtv.
The agreement covers all four Test matches between the Springboks and All Blacks, as well as the four provincial fixtures against the Stormers, Sharks, Bulls and Lions. The All Blacks face the Stormers on 7 August, the Sharks on 11 August and the Bulls on 15 August, before the Test series opens on 22 August. Two Tests are scheduled for Johannesburg and one for Cape Town, with the Lions match on 25 August slotted between the second and third Tests. The series concludes in Baltimore on 12 September — a fixture that takes the rivalry onto neutral soil for the first time.
The tour marks the All Blacks' first full visit to South Africa since 1996, when New Zealand won that series 2-1 to earn the "Incomparables" tag — the only touring All Blacks side to win a series of three or more Tests on South African soil since 1928.
Canal+ Africa and MultiChoice Group CEO David Mignot framed the deal as consistent with the group's local-content strategy: "Rugby's Greatest Rivalry is another feather in our cap in terms of bringing sports content that matters to viewers and subscribers."
SARU CEO Rian Oberholzer called it a landmark pairing: "Having a landmark broadcaster in SuperSport to once again bring the passion and drama of the Tour to screens on the continent will be music to the ears of local fans."
NZR CEO Steve Lancaster said interest in the tour is strong on both sides: "This is one of the game's most exciting events and we're looking forward to enabling fans to follow another memorable chapter in the rivalry."
The Springboks enter the series ranked first in the world under Rassie Erasmus. The All Blacks arrive under new head coach Dave Rennie.
