The Springbok Women wrapped up their WXV Global Series tour with a 20-0 win over Spain in Seville on Sunday, completing the match at the Estadio Olímpico de la Cartuja in challenging midday heat that required two scheduled water breaks.

Co-head coach Franzel September highlighted the clean sheet as the standout result, particularly given the disruption caused by front-row injuries. Babalwa Latsha left the field with an ankle injury, followed shortly after by Nombuyekezo Mdliki, who was stretchered off. September noted that the pack retained set-piece dominance despite those enforced changes, with backline niggles adding further strain on the squad's depth.

"To come to Spain and score 20 points without conceding any points is a good day," September said. "We did leave some tries out there, but to finish the tour with such a commanding win was great for us."

Discipline was flagged as a specific area of progress, with the side conceding no cards and committing no high tackles — a benchmark September has tied explicitly to their Rugby World Cup preparation. Nullifying Spain's attack was the other priority the coaching staff felt they executed well.

"We managed to kill their attack at source," September said. "The fact that they could not score tells you how successful that was."

The squad returns to South Africa on Tuesday, with attention shifting immediately to a two-Test home series against Ireland in Cape Town later this month. Medical assessments on Latsha, Mdliki and the backline casualties were expected later on Sunday.
