The South African Rugby Union has issued a formal warning to players and agents regarding participation in unauthorised trial competitions operating outside the recognised structures of the global game.

In a strongly worded statement, SARU made clear that players who take part in these rogue trial events face immediate expulsion, signalling a hard line against competitions that have not received official sanction.

The warning also targets agents involved in promoting or facilitating such events, indicating that SARU intends to hold all parties in the pipeline accountable — not only the players themselves.
