SA Rugby has officially launched BokSmart 9, the latest iteration of its player safety and injury prevention education programme, with the course now freely available on the MyBokSmart digital learning platform.

The updated programme is aimed at coaches, referees, medical support staff, players, and administrators across all levels of the game, with a particular focus on risks within the amateur game. Topics covered include concussion management, neck strengthening, scrum and tackle safety, rugby regulations, and a dedicated women's rugby module.

Dr Wayne Viljoen, SA Rugby's Senior Manager for Rugby Safety, said the programme is designed to support evidence-informed decision-making at every level. "Informed decisions made on the practice- or match field can make a meaningful difference to player welfare and injury risk, and BokSmart 9 has been designed to support that responsibility at every level of the game."

SA Rugby and the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players Fund are encouraging full engagement with the course materials. SportsCap, BokSmart's Official Software Partner, continues to underpin the MyBokSmart platform. "Our focus is on providing a reliable, accessible, and user-friendly digital learning environment that helps make rugby education available to participants wherever they are," said SportsCap Managing Director Dale Toy.

Participants can access BokSmart 9 by logging into their MyBokSmart accounts and completing the registration process.
