Garry Ringrose will miss Ireland's entire Nations Championship Northern Hemisphere Series after sustaining a hamstring injury, the IRFU has confirmed. The Leinster centre is the most recent addition to a lengthy casualty list that already includes Caelan Doris, Jack Boyle, Harry Byrne, Jack Conan, Jack Crowley, Iain Henderson, Paddy McCarthy, Calvin Nash and Bryn Ward.

Ringrose will continue his rehabilitation with Leinster and is not expected to feature in any of Ireland's three home Tests — against Argentina on 6 November, Fiji on 14 November, and the Springboks on 21 November, all at the Aviva Stadium.

Two further backs remain in camp but are managing injuries. Jimmy O'Brien suffered a concussion over the weekend and is following a graduated return-to-play protocol, with the aim of resuming full training later in the week. Sam Prendergast is progressing from a wrist complaint and continuing his rehabilitation in camp. Head coach Andy Farrell has not called up replacements for any of the absent players.

The Springbok match kicks off at 16:40 local time on 21 November, with South African viewers able to follow live on SuperSport at 18:40.
