RG Snyman faces lengthy spell on sidelines after ACL rupture
Leinster have confirmed that RG Snyman ruptured the ACL in his right knee during their 17-38 defeat to Glasgow Warriors on 21 March, ruling him out for the remainder of the season with a recovery window of six to 12 months.
The news is a significant blow to the Springbok coaching staff, with Snyman set to miss the Nations Championship Tests against England, Wales and Italy in July, as well as the Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Series against the All Blacks in August and September.
At 31, Snyman has now ruptured the ACL in both knees. His previous two ACL injuries were to the left knee — the right knee had, until now, been unaffected.
