Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed that three key players will rejoin the squad for next weekend's fourth Test at M&T Bank Stadium. Pollard has recovered from the calf injury that opened the door for Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu to start at flyhalf in recent matches, while Williams and Moodie have both overcome hamstring complaints.
"Handré, Grant Williams and Canan Moodie will be on the plane to Baltimore," Erasmus said. "They'll be ready for selection next week."
Williams sustained a grade one hamstring injury in the opening Test defeat at Ellis Park, whilst Moodie has been sidelined since picking up his hamstring problem against Argentina. All three are expected to be available for the series decider, which will mark the first time the Springboks and All Blacks have met on American soil.
In a rare logistical arrangement, both squads will share a charter flight to the United States on Sunday, departing just a day after Saturday's third Test in Johannesburg. Erasmus acknowledged the unusual nature of travelling with opponents so soon after battle.
"Luckily it's exactly the same for both teams. We fly on the same charter, us and New Zealand on the same plane," he said. "We always do it for Argentina. When we play Argentina here, the next day all on the same flight and I sit here and [Felipe] Contepomi sits there and it's kind of a weird thing to do."
The match at the home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens represents an opportunity to showcase one of rugby's greatest rivalries to a new audience. "It's an exciting thing for us. We love taking rugby to people," Erasmus said. "Whenever I've been there, it's a great experience."
