World Rugby announced the match official appointments for November's Nations Championship northern leg on Thursday, with the Springboks' three fixtures now confirmed.

Ireland's Eoghan Cross will referee the tour opener against Italy at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Saturday, 7 November. Andrea Piardi takes charge of the France match at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Friday, 13 November, whilst Christophe Ridley oversees the Ireland Test at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, 21 November.

Piardi's appointment marks his first Test in charge since the Springboks' 42-38 victory over the Wallabies in September, a match that drew criticism from former Australia captain Michael Hooper after four quick-fire sin-binnings left the Wallabies with 11 players on the field at one stage. The Italian official will run the touchline for Scotland's clash with New Zealand in Edinburgh before taking the whistle in Paris.

South African officials Morne Ferreira and Marius van der Westhuizen have also been named in the appointments. Ferreira will serve as assistant referee for Ireland's fixtures against Argentina in Dublin on 6 November and Italy in Genoa the following weekend. Van der Westhuizen has been appointed television match official for England's matches against Japan and New Zealand in London, and will act as foul play review officer when Scotland host the All Blacks in Edinburgh.

Ridley's appointment for the Dublin encounter comes a year after Matthew Carley refereed the same fixture, issuing four yellow cards to Irish players during that contest. Match officials for the Finals Weekend in London on 27-29 November will be announced at a later date.
