Richie Mo'unga has been called into the All Blacks' Rugby's Greatest Rivalry squad after Billy Proctor suffered a shoulder blade injury during last Friday's tour-opener against the Stormers, which New Zealand won 38-21. Mo'unga is set to arrive in Johannesburg on Friday.
Head Coach Dave Rennie confirmed the call-up, saying Mo'unga is "the obvious choice as a replacement" and that his immediate task is to learn the team's systems and "earn the right to play." Rennie also expressed sympathy for Proctor, noting he had "a great season" before the injury, and indicated the Kiwi midfielder remains in contention for end-of-year tour selection once fit.
