Rassie Erasmus has called up loosehead prop Ntuthuko Mchunu to the Springbok squad as preparations resume in Johannesburg for the one-off test against Argentina and the RGR series against New Zealand.

Mchunu, who earned his fourth cap against Scotland in the Nations Championship earlier this month, brings the squad in Johannesburg to 44 players. The squad reassembled on Sunday evening after a week off and returned to on-field work on Monday.

Erasmus is set to name his travelling party for the Buenos Aires test on 8 August later this week, with that group departing for Argentina in two groups on Saturday. The players not travelling to Argentina will continue their Rugby Championship preparations in Johannesburg under a separate coaching and medical contingent.
