Ntuthuko Mchunu has been drafted into the Springbok squad as Rassie Erasmus begins preparing his group for the one-off Test against Argentina in Buenos Aires on 8 August and the subsequent Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series against New Zealand.
The squad reassembled in Johannesburg on Sunday evening and returned to on-field work on Monday. Mchunu, who earned his fourth cap against Scotland in the Nations Championship earlier this month, takes the full squad in Johannesburg to 44 players.
Erasmus is set to name his travelling party for Argentina later this week, with that group departing in two waves on Saturday. The players remaining behind will continue their preparations for the New Zealand matches under a designated coaching and medical staff contingent at the Johannesburg base.
