Stormers loosehead Ntuthuko Mchunu has been added to the Springbok camp in Johannesburg, bringing the squad to 44 players as preparations intensify for the Test against Argentina and the Rugby Championship series against New Zealand.

Mchunu, 27, was among five players released to their franchises last week for the midweek matches against the All Blacks, but has now been recalled. He has four Test caps, most recently against Scotland in the Nations Championship earlier this month.

Rassie Erasmus is expected to name his travelling squad for the Buenos Aires Test later this week, with that group departing for Argentina in two waves on Saturday. Players not involved in the Argentina fixture will continue their preparations in Johannesburg under a separate coaching and medical contingent, focused on the All Blacks series.
