Louw called up to Springbok Nations Championship squad

Elrigh Louw has been called into the Springbok Nations Championship squad as forward cover, returning to the wider group for the first time since the November 2024 Test against Wales.

Elrigh Louw has been called up to the Springbok squad for the Nations Championship as additional forward cover, joining the group in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

Louw's last Test appearance was against Wales in November 2024, and he missed most of the 2025 season with a serious knee injury. His return to form for the Bulls earned him a place in the alignment camps and now a recall to the wider squad.

The Springboks open their Nations Championship campaign against England at Ellis Park on Saturday, before hosting Scotland at Loftus Versfeld on 11 July and Wales at Kings Park on 18 July.
