Siya Kolisi says he is fit and ready to return against Argentina on Saturday after a hamstring injury has kept him out of recent Test action. The past fortnight of training in Johannesburg and then in camp has given him confidence in the recovery.

"I feel good. The past two weeks have been really good. My hamstring is good, and yeah, I'm excited," Kolisi said.

He is, however, deliberately keeping his mindset straightforward, rejecting any narrative of a point to prove. "I just don't want to put any pressure on myself. I just want to go out there and do what I can do. Just play my part in the team."

Kolisi also pushed back on any suggestion that seniority earns a guaranteed starting berth in this squad. "Nobody here is settled, and everyone has to play and prove themselves. No matter who you are, you are excited to have an opportunity to play for South Africa."

He acknowledged Argentina will arrive dangerous despite fielding a heavily altered squad — the fixture falls outside the standard global release window, forcing Los Pumas to hand opportunities to several inexperienced players. That has created its own scouting challenge for the Springbok camp. "They have a lot of guys getting opportunities, and we have had to do a lot of homework because their young debutants have not played much," Kolisi said, adding that the sides' last two meetings were tightly contested.
