South Africa U20 will face England in the Junior World Championship semi-final at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi on Monday, 13 July (20:30 local / 17:30 BST), after both sides topped their respective pools in Georgia.
The defending champions closed out Pool A with a commanding 52-33 victory over Wales at the Avchala Stadium, setting up a semi-final that mirrors the senior Nations Championship fixture played between the two nations last weekend.
England, chasing a fifth world title, survived a dramatic Pool C decider against Argentina, winning 40-38 despite being reduced to 13 men at one stage. France edged Australia 34-29 in Kutaisi to top Pool D — a result that revisited the pain of the 2019 Junior World Championship final, where France defeated the Junior Wallabies in Argentina. New Zealand completed Pool B with a 45-15 dismantling of Italy and face France in the first semi-final on Monday (18:00 local / 15:00 BST), bidding for their seventh title and first since the tournament was last hosted in Georgia in 2017.
In the fight for fifth place, Argentina, Australia and Wales are joined by Scotland, who beat Japan 43-32 to edge Italy to second in Pool B. Georgia, Ireland, Italy and Fiji will contest ninth through twelfth, while Spain, Japan, USA and Uruguay play off for 13th to 16th.
