Fabien Galthié has made four enforced changes to France's extended 42-man Nations Championship squad after Karl Sorin, Antoine Hastoy, Marko Gazzotti and Fabien Brau-Boirie all withdrew through injury.

The departures add to an already lengthy absentee list that includes Matthieu Jalibert, Thomas Ramos, Julien Marchand, Emmanuel Meafou, Thibaud Flament, Demba Bamba and Lenni Nouchi. Galthié has replaced the four latest withdrawals with Pau prop Thomas Laclayat, Bordeaux centre Nicolas Depoortere, Toulouse back-rower Anthony Jelonch and Castres fly-half Louis Le Brun — the last of whom is uncapped at senior level but is in contention for a first Test cap having previously represented France U20.

France enter the tournament top of the Northern Hemisphere pool after winning two of three Tests during the July block. Their next fixtures are against Argentina, the Springboks and Fiji, with a finals weekend placement still to be confirmed.

Antoine Dupont continues as captain, with the broader squad otherwise unchanged. Grégory Alldritt returns to the setup for the first time since the 2025 Autumn Nations Series.
