Rassie Erasmus has named a largely settled Springbok side for Saturday's third Castle Lager Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Test against the All Blacks at FNB Stadium in Soweto, with four changes and one positional switch from the team that won 33-26 in Cape Town last weekend.

The front row reverts to the combination originally named for the series opener, with Ox Nche, Wilco Louw and Malcolm Marx returning to the starting lineup. Gerhard Steenekamp, Thomas du Toit and Deon Fourie drop to the bench — a reshuffle Erasmus attributes to conditions rather than performance, noting that Johannesburg's weather differs from Cape Town's and informed last week's selection in the first place.

The other change is injury-driven. Damian Willemse is unavailable after taking a knock in the first half of the second Test, prompting Cheslin Kolbe to move from wing to fullback and Kurt-Lee Arendse to come in on the wing. Handré Pollard also remains unavailable.

"Kurt-Lee was unlucky not to play last week after Cheslin recovered from his niggle," said Erasmus. "He is a quality player and his 25 tries in 33 matches so far shows the type of player he is."

Erasmus is anticipating a significant All Blacks response. "We know how it felt after the first match in Johannesburg, and such a result really galvanises a team," he said, referencing the Boks' own experience of losing the series opener before drawing level in Cape Town. With the series tied at one apiece, Saturday's winner takes a 2-1 lead into the final match in the USA.

"The team that wins this match will be two games up in the series, which will make the clash in the USA the decider or game that could see the series finish in a draw, so there will be a different vibe around this match," Erasmus added.

Erasmus also pointed to the FNB Stadium's atmosphere as a factor, with a capacity crowd of around 80,000 expected. "With the vuvuzelas and passionate crowd there, we can hardly hear one another on the field," he said. "Composure and accuracy are going to be vital for both sides."

Kickoff on Saturday is at 17h10, live on SuperSport.
