The Springboks arrived in Argentina on Sunday ahead of Saturday's Rugby Championship clash against Los Pumas at Estadio José Amalfitani, with Rassie Erasmus confirming preparations are on schedule for both that match and the upcoming All Blacks series.
Two travelling groups flew into Buenos Aires via São Paulo, arriving at the team hotel within an hour of each other. The squad was given Sunday off to rest and acclimatise before returning to the training field on Monday.
"It's great to be back in Buenos Aires, and we are looking forward to the challenge of facing the Pumas here once again," said Erasmus. "It was a long journey, and there is a fair time difference between the countries, so the players will have time to rest and acclimatise today, and then we'll return to the training field tomorrow."
Erasmus noted that the bulk of the match preparation work had already been completed at a training camp in Johannesburg earlier in the week. "Fortunately, we did most of the ground work for the match at our training camp in Johannesburg earlier this week, so we have a good base to build on in the next few days."
The players remaining in South Africa for the New Zealand Tests also reassembled on Sunday and resume training on Monday. Erasmus confirmed he would consult with his coaching staff before deciding when to announce the matchday squad for the Argentina fixture.
