Du Toit to captain Springboks as Kolisi and Etzebeth withdraw for England clash

Pieter-Steph du Toit captains the Springboks from the second row after Kolisi and Etzebeth withdraw late, while England lose Furbank to illness with Marcus Smith stepping in to start.

Pieter-Steph du Toit takes over the Springbok captaincy for the Nations Championship opener against England at Ellis Park after both Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth were ruled out of the matchday 23 late.

Du Toit shifts to the second row to cover for Etzebeth, with Paul de Villiers and Cameron Hanekom both earning starting berths as a result of the enforced changes.

England have also been hit by a late withdrawal, with George Furbank ruled out through illness. Marcus Smith moves into the starting side, and Henry Slade is added to the replacements bench.
