Deon Fourie was the Stormers' shining light in their 38-21 defeat to the All Blacks at DHL Stadium on Friday, scoring a try, setting up another for Seabelo Senatla, making 13 tackles and winning two turnovers across a 62-minute shift.

Debutant flyhalf Yaqeen Ahmed was another bright spot, impressing with his composure, distribution and ability to vary his attack against the All Blacks defence. Hacjivah Dayimani finished with a team-high 57 metres gained and 14 tackles, while Connor Evans led the tackle count with 16 hits.

Evan Roos was lively as a ball carrier but let the Stormers down with a knock-on close to the All Blacks' tryline shortly after the restart. Leolin Zas struggled defensively, missing three of his eight tackle attempts. Captain Ruan Nel was replaced at half-time by Wandisile Simelane having made little attacking impression, with Jonathan Roche similarly restricted to defensive duties.

The Stormers also lost scrumhalf Imad Khan inside the first five minutes to a leg injury, with Dewaldt Duvenage coming on to cover for the remainder of the match.
