Springbok Women head coach Swys de Bruin has named a 49-player extended squad to cover the remainder of the 2026 season, bringing in new faces beyond the group that featured in Kenya and in the two-test series against the USA Eagles.
The schedule ahead is substantial: an away series against Fiji, a one-off test against the Black Ferns in Soweto, three Global WXV fixtures in Europe against Wales, Italy and Spain, and two home tests against Ireland in Cape Town.
"The next phase of our preparation starts now, and we have extended invitations to some players outside of the group that did so well in Kenya and against the USA," De Bruin said. Players who featured against the USA will take a short break before all invited players reconvene in Stellenbosch in staggered groups, structured around individual development needs.
