Both U16 tournaments — the Grant Khomo Week and the U16 Girls Week — will be staged at Kearsney College in Botha's Hill near Durban for the first time under a combined-venue format, with 38 teams converging on the ground from across the country. The tournaments open SA Rugby's annual Youth Weeks programme, ahead of the U18 Craven Week and U18 Girls Week at Grey High School in Gqeberha from 6 to 11 July.
The U16 Grant Khomo Week runs from 29 June to 3 July across three match days. The Blue Bulls XV open proceedings on Monday morning against Kenya at 08.30, with Blue Bulls and Sharks — who both recorded three wins at the 2025 tournament — in action later on day one against Eastern Province and the Golden Lions respectively.
The U16 Girls Week runs on alternate days between 30 June and 4 July at the same venue. Tuesday's schedule opens with Pumas against Border Country Districts, followed by Western Province hosting KwaZulu-Natal. The Opening Ceremony on Tuesday afternoon precedes the headline fixture between Golden Lions and Blue Bulls, who both finished the 2025 competition unbeaten.
