The achievement draws fresh attention to the school rugby pipeline that shaped the squad. Players from Grey College, Paul Roos Gimnasium, Paarl Boys' High, Paarl Gimnasium, Affies, Jeppe High School for Boys, Wynberg Boys' High, SACS, Maritzburg College, King Edward VII, Noordheuwel, Durban High School, Boland Landbou, Garsfontein, Charlie Hofmeyr and Northwood all featured across the squad.
The King Price Derby Series on SuperSport Schools on 1 August provides an early look at the next wave, with KES vs Jeppe, Paarl Boys' High vs Paarl Gimnasium, and Stellenberg vs Durbanville among the opening-round fixtures.
