All three travelling teams won on the opening weekend of the Pick n Pay Women's Super League 2, with 36 tries shared across Saturday's fixtures.
The Hollywood Foundation Pumas Women, defending champions, made the strongest statement, beating Avbob Griquas Women 67-29 at Suzuki Stadium in Kimberley. Wing Megan Guambe's hat-trick headlined the performance, with flanker Sam Ngcobo and fullback Alicia Mahlalela each crossing twice. The first 20 minutes were competitive, with both sides scoring two tries apiece, before Guambe's double strike broke the game open. She completed her hat-trick just before the interval to give the Pumas a 36-10 halftime lead. A tighter second half still saw two further Pumas tries push the winning margin to 38 points. Griquas finished with five tries through Theresa Ruiter (2), Leilani Januarie and Nicole van Wyk (2).
In Polokwane, the Leopards Women beat the Limpopo Blue Bulls Women 57-19 at the University of Limpopo. Flyhalf Amzolele Gqola contributed 20 points via a try, six conversions and a penalty goal. Limpopo drew first blood and led 5-0 after six minutes, but the Leopards responded with four tries and a penalty try to lead 38-5 at the break, aided by two Limpopo sin-bins. The home side opened the second half more competitively with two unanswered tries, but the Leopards closed out with three more to complete an eight-try performance.
At Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park, the SWD Eagirls beat the Valke Women 37-12, scoring five tries in the opening 25 minutes to lead 27-0 at halftime. The Valke responded better in the second half, scoring both their tries after the break and tightening their defence, but the Eagirls added two further tries to seal the result. Flyhalf Lukho Mpangeva was the Eagirls' sole successful kicker, converting one of their seven tries.
