New Zealand have displaced South Africa at the top of the World Rugby rankings after their 33-16 victory over the Springboks in the first Test of the Greatest Rivalry series at Ellis Park.
The All Blacks gained 1.75 ranking points to move to 94.03, while South Africa dropped the same margin to 92.21. Ireland remain third on 88.08, with France fourth on 87.43 and England fifth on 85.68.
The standings could shift again next weekend if the Springboks level the series at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, with the extent of any points movement dependent on the margin of victory. World Rugby will publish the official updated rankings on Monday, 24 August.
