SA Rugby president Mark Alexander welcomed the Junior Springboks back to South Africa on Monday, praising their 16-5 victory over France in Georgia on Saturday as evidence that the country's player development structures are functioning at the highest level.
The triumph follows the Junior Boks' 2025 title in Italy, where they beat New Zealand 23-15, making them back-to-back Under-20 World Champions.
"Winning consecutive world titles at the Under-20 level underscores the promise of a new generation ready to carry the Springbok legacy forward," Alexander said.
Alexander framed the achievement within a broader run of national success, citing the Springboks' back-to-back Rugby World Cup wins and the Blitzboks reclaiming the World Rugby Sevens Series title. "The evidence is clear: our pathways and pipeline are working, strong and healthy," he said. "These victories reflect the depth of our structures, the excellence of our coaching and the resilience of our players."
The senior men's team return to action on 8 August when they face Argentina in Buenos Aires.
